ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT - UVC FOR DISINFECTION
Studies suggest, pathogens can live on surfaces for a few seconds to up to 3 days and normal cleaning and disinfection may leave behind some residual contamination. UVC light has been used extensively for more than 40 years in disinfecting surfaces against a whole suite of human pathogens. The principle works on UVC wavelengths with 254 nm, which gets absorbed and leads to killing or impairment of germs and fungal spores. Hence the UV-C radiation sees use in the targeted impairment or killing of micro-organisms.
